Leadership
James Hong, the founding principal of HONG FINANCIAL, has a passion and drive for helping people since he started in the business in 2006. It comes from his entrepreneurial background, personal experiences, and leadership involvement with many organizations.
James is also Co-Founder & COO of BE A CHAMPION, INC., current board member and Life Member of University of Houston Alumni Association Foundation (UHAAF), board member of Houston Cougar Foundation (HCF), past president of Bauer College Alumni Association (BCAA) and "H" Association (Letterwinners), member of UH Athletics AD Advisory Council and BraeBurn Country Club.
Academic Background
James Hong is a graduate of the University of Houston (UH) with a BBA in Finance and Management. James Hong also has an Intrepreneurship Certificate from the Wolff Center for Entrepreneurship at the Bauer College of Business.
He is also a lecturer at University of Houston's Bauer College of Business in the Risk Management Institute (RMI), teaching Life Insurance and Annuities since August 2012.
Extensive Experience in Financial Services
James began working in the industry immediately after graduating from the University of Houston in December 2005, starting his career with Mass Mutual Financial Group.
After four years working under a blue-chip insurance company, he decided to become an independent broker. As such, he founded HONG FINANCIAL in January 2010.
